Resolved Question: Is Sterling Marlin really gonna be in that 00 car?
I seen on the websites that Marlin is going to the 00 to replace David Reutimand for 2012. Seems like we can chalk this up to a past champions provisional I guess but wow, what a shame.

So here is the outline. I'm using Nascar Racing 2003 to "sim" results. If you have 1 car, you will have 1 pick in the first round then be done. If you have more than 1, you will wait until everyone has selected at least 1 driver for their team before being able to select your 2nd or 3rd or even 4th (I think 4 should be the max). While drafting, remember each driver has a price. Also, when you select the driver you must pick a contract of 1-3 years (your choice). This will be a fixed price you will pay out to your driver. I draft Dale Earnhardt at $44 so that gives me $256 left over. I decide this is the only car I'm going to own. Aero- 8/21 = $29 Chassis- 8/21 = $29 Engine- 8/21 = $29 Reliability- 8/21 = $29 Consistency- 8/21 = $29 Speed- 8/21 = $29 Strategy- 8/21 =$29 $29 * 7 Ratings = $203 used. Add in the $44 for Earnhardt and I've used $247, leaving me $53 left over. I might want to bank this to help start up a second team next season or to see how the season goes and where I may need to improve. Maybe I got a lesser driver in the draft therefore I use this to get that big free agent driver in the offseason. The choice is yours! The reason we're starting off with so little money is so there is room for improvement. If I own more than 1 car, I will have to spread out the money for the rating points between the teams. Essentially you could have Rusty Wallace & Dale Earnhardt, 2 great drivers of the 90's as we know but you would have lesser cars to start out with compared to a 1 car team with Kyle Petty driving it. CAN I LOSE MONEY? I have decided no, you cannot. The price will automatically go up as other teams earn money so it's easier if we just leave out the subtraction. When a star like Earnhardt/Wallace/Martin becomes a free agent, the bidding for that driver will sky rocket costing the team more money. Also, keeping your cars/pit crew up to speed will also cost money so your driver doesn't lose the group. The only way you really can get worse is to just not perform well, it's that simple. OFFSEASON Free Agents & Rookies will be bid on. The previous owner will ALWAYS have the right to match the highest bidder to keep their driver. All I ask is please do not bid someone's salary clear up then back out unless you are serious on bidding for that driver. If you do so, there will be consequences but I'm sure we will have no issues with that. Also, this is the time to upgrade your cars! To start a new team the cost will increase each season. New sign-ups will be dealt with when the time comes. I think the fairest way would be to give the newest sign-ups the team with the min. amount of money total to start a team. I am going to allow full house changes on your cars. If you would rather put your money into the aero instead of the engine, go for it, just don't go over your team's money Earning Money This will be based on the points. Depending on the # of cars is how much you will earn. If 25 cars are in the field and you got first in points, $25 is yours. If we have 42, then it would be $42 and so on down the line until last place got $1. This is also where owning a multi car team can become beneficial because you will earn more money for each points.
